PAY RANGE

The Target Pay Range for this position is $184,300.00-$225,000.00 annually. The full Pay Range is $143,000.00 - $266,300.00 annually. At BECU, compensation decisions are determined using factors such as relevant job-related skills, experience, and education or training. Should an offer for employment be made, we will consider individual qualifications. In addition to your salary, compensation incentives are available for the hired applicant. Incentives are performance-based and targets vary by role.

As the Mortgage Strategic Initiatives Director, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping the future of mortgage services at BECU. You'll lead major mortgage initiatives from conception to completion, connecting cross-functional teams, removing roadblocks, and creating clarity and momentum. WHAT YOU'LL DO:
  • Lead Strategic Mortgage Initiatives: Oversee large-scale, cross-functional mortgage project portfolios, ensuring they stay on track, on time, and within scope.
  • Build and Deliver Annual Plans: Partner with leaders to develop and execute plans aligning projects with organizational priorities.
  • Standardize Project Management Excellence: Establish frameworks, governance models, and methodologies to elevate consistency, quality, and speed.
  • Orchestrate Roadmap Planning: Drive planning for project roadmaps, intake, resourcing, and prioritization. Track risks, complexity, and value delivery.
  • Solve Cross-Functional Challenges: Identify dependencies and risks, influence resolution, and minimize disruptions.
  • Develop and Inspire Talent: Mentor project managers to improve communication, performance, and delivery capabilities.
  • Ensure Audit Readiness: Prepare projects for audits with proper documentation, controls, and compliance.
  • Foster Stakeholder Transparency: Build relationships and communicate goals and progress clearly.
  • Manage Budgets with Precision: Oversee financial tracking and reconciliation for projects.
  • Support Change and Adoption: Plan for transitions by identifying training needs and support strategies.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, or related field, or equivalent experience
  • 10+ years of relevant experience in program, project, or portfolio management
  • Experience in the financial industry with operations and strategy execution
  • Leading project management efforts for system conversions or integrations
  • Mortgage industry experience

Desired Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree in a relevant field
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies (e.g., PMP, Green Belt)
  • Proven leadership of large project teams
  • Ability to influence without direct authority
  • Strategic planning skills
  • Excellent communication skills
