Work Here!Conducts department's drug testing program to include the scheduling of random drug testing program with various staff members (officers) at different locations and placing dates into computerized database.Observes, collects and prepares the various specimens (hair, urine, fingernails) to be sent to multiple labs. Logs specimens into a computerized database. Communicates with various labs regarding test results and troubleshooting issued related to test analysis.Documents the results of testing in offender's case files and prepares reports that indicate the results of A/D tests; disseminate results to staff.Responsible for calibrating the department's breathalyzer units.Orders drug testing supplies from various vendors and conduct an inventory of said supplies; ensures department's main/satellite labs are properly stocked with necessary drug-testing supplies.Coordinates with the department's financial analyst to ensure drug-testing program remains within budget.Assists law enforcement in the collection of evidence regarding the tampering/falsification of urine specimens in compliance with state law. Maintains a familiarity with various illegal drugs and prescription drugs and informs officers of potential usage trends; assists in training new officers on various drugs and testing methods and procedures.Conducts civil drug testing for the civil/family counts in Fort Bend County and ensures court orders are maintained and adhered to regarding the collection of specimens.Conducts department's bar check program with local law enforcement agencies.Participates in activities and duties related to emergency management during a local state of disaster as directed by appropriate county managers.MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:High School Diploma/GED. Associates Degree preferred.2 years job related experience. Four years of job related experience preferred.Good computer skills that include Word and Excel applications; ability to type. Familiarity with department's CSS software and documentation protocol preferred. Good verbal and written communication skills. Must have good interpersonal and organizational skills and ability to deal effectively with the public, other employees and elected officials.Ability to complete assigned projects. Must be able to complete urine, hair, nail, and breathalyzer training within 6 months of employment.STARTING SALARY RANGE: $17.95 - $22.44 hourly based on qualificationsCLOSING DATE: Upon filling positionAll full-time and part-time employees are members of the Texas County District Retirement System (TCDRS).
