POSITION SUMMARY

The Plumbing & Piping Detailing Department seeks a new team member to support our critical day-to-day activities. The Model Coordinator creates detailed drawings and plans for piping systems used in commercial, industrial, or residential construction projects. This role collaborates closely with project managers, engineers, and field personnel to ensure accurate, efficient, and code-compliant designs that support fabrication and installation.

What you'll do:

Prepare detailed 2D and 3D drawings of piping systems using Revitsoftware.

Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and project requirements to develop accurate shop and installation drawings.

Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and other trades to resolve design conflicts and ensure constructability.

Generate bills of materials, spool sheets, and fabrication details for use in the shop and field.

Ensure all designs comply with relevant codes, standards, and safety regulations.

Participate in project meetings and provide technical support during fabrication and installation.

Revise drawings based on field changes, RFIs, or updated project requirements.

Maintain organized records of drawings, revisions, and project documentation.

What you'll need to be successful:

High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree or certification in drafting, design, or a related field preferred.

Minimum 5 years of field experience in pipefitting and or Plumbing.

5 years in mechanical detailing using CAD or Revit.

Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks, or similar).

Strong understanding of piping systems, materials, and installation practices.

Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documents.

Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

Strong communication and teamwork abilities.

Knowledge of industry codes and standards

Preferred Skills:

Experience with BIM (Building Information Modeling) processes.

Experience with Revit Plugins (Naviate, RF Tools, Stratus, ACC, Etc.)

Familiarity with project management software and workflows.

Pay: Final pay is determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data. For (Colorado/New York City/California/Washington) this ranges from $125,000.00-$140,000.00 plus annual incentive, benefits and retirement program as outlined above.
