We are seeking Mobile Integrated Health Senior Counselors. The Mobile Integrated Health Program (MIH) is a collaboration between the Seattle Fire Department (SFD) and Aging and Disability Services, a division of the Human Services Department (HSD). Case managers work alongside specially trained firefighters who respond to clients in behavioral, medical or substance use crises. Our case managers are some of the most skilled, experienced and effective case managers in the business. They are true experts in crisis intervention, service connections, and the clients who are referred to the Seattle Fire Department. The ability for our firefighters and case managers to work as a seamless unit is behind everything we have achieved in the program.
The Mobile Integrated Health Program case managers respond to clients and conduct an on-scene assessment and plan of care, referring to services and supports to meet long term needs rather than the emergency room. Health 99 is part of the MIH program. This is our post overdose response team and was created in response to the Mayor's Executive Order to address the fentanyl crisis. Health 99 case managers provide a trauma informed response to clients experiencing a substance use crisis and will follow-up to link clients to treatment or other services.
The Mobile Integrated Health Senior Counselor(s) will help lead this team.The position(s) will serve as lead case managers and support the supervisor and program manager for the Mobile Integrated Health Program (MIHP). The position(s) will assign, prioritize, and monitor the workload of case managers; coordinate and direct case manager training; conduct reviews of case manager documentation, assessments, and care plans; and provide support to staff regarding complex cases. The position will report to a Human Program Supervisor, Senior within Aging and Disability Services/HSD.
When the program expands its hours, this position may transition to some weekend hours. This role will be in the office/field full time with the opportunity to have a hybrid schedule as permitted. This recruitment will be used to fill two openings within the MIH program.Minimum Qualifications:
Four years' social service experience involving interviewing, counseling, crisis intervention, and a bachelor's degree in social services, Psychology, Sociology, or related field (or a combination of education and/or training and/or work experience which provides the ability to perform the work of the class).
Requires a minimum of two years working with older adults, adults with disabilities, people in medical, behavioral or substance use crises. Requires extensive knowledge of services and supports to meet the needs of the Mobile Integrated Health clients.
OR: An equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the position duties.
Certification/License: Driver's license for the ability to make on-site visits to clients and attend meetings and trainings.

The full pay range for this position is $44.29 - $51.62 per hour. Additionally, the Mobile Integrated Health Program Senior Counselors receive $5.00 per hour premium pay.
This role is expected to be in the office/field a minimum of three days a week. Interviews will be conducted in person at the Seattle Fire Department in Pioneer Square.
