MISS: Power Plant Manager (Contingency Hire)

The MISS program supports the US Department of State's operations in Iraq, providing base operations, Life Support Services, and advisory capabilities to the Iraqi Government. KBR manages facilities, procurement, supply, foodservice, construction, and medical services.

The Power Plant Manager oversees the daily operations and maintenance of power production systems at the Baghdad Diplomatic Support Center, including fuel management, electrical systems, and SCADA systems. Responsibilities include safety, efficiency, and regulatory compliance.

• Ensure a safe workplace with safety as the highest priority.
• Manage 24/7 operations of power systems, including fuel, electrical, and control systems.
• Maintain plant reliability and safety standards.
• Supervise operations and maintenance teams, conduct performance evaluations.
• Inspect equipment and facilities regularly.
• Operate and monitor generators and electrical systems.
• Ensure environmental and safety compliance, including OSHA and NFPA standards.
• Respond to emergencies and coordinate environmental testing.
• Review and approve plant modifications and maintenance plans.
• Maintain plant records and prepare reports.
• Support startup, shutdown, and maintenance procedures.

• Bachelor's in mechanical or electrical engineering, with 3 years' experience in power plant operations.
• 8 years' experience managing large diesel generator plants, with 4 years in a supervisory role.
• U.S. citizenship, valid driver's license, and clean driving record.
• Ability to pass background checks, drug screening, and hold a Secret security clearance or MRPT certification.
• Effective communication and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project management tools.
• Knowledge of industrial safety and environmental regulations.
• Ability to interpret technical manuals and drawings.
