Chemours is seeking a Mine Planning Engineer or a comparable discipline to join our Minerals Operations team as a summer intern! This position will report directly to the Mine Planning Engineering Manager. As a Mine Planning Intern, you will work closely with the Mine Planning and Mineral Operations team gaining valuable experience through hands-on projects in our mines and mineral separation plants, located in Georgia and Florida. You will have exposure to real-time mine planning assignments alongside other mining professionals to apply what you've learned in the classroom.Effective interns will have the ability to communicate with impact, have strong self-awareness, and be naturally inquisitive. Location: Starke, FL, Maxville, FL or Jesup, GA, Nahunta, GA Hours: Regular full-time schedule of 40 hours per week Term : 3 month assignment, June through August 2026, conforming to school schedule The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Rotating through functional mineral departments to gain exposure to all aspects of heavy mineral sand mining and processing.
  • Working with experienced mining professionals on improvement projects by developing alternative solutions, carrying out trials, and making informed recommendations.
  • Advancing Chemours' safety culture.
  • Contributing to team meetings, participating in team projects, and communicating recommendations to key stakeholders.
T he following is required for this role :
  • Enrollment at an accredited college or university and pursuing an undergraduate degree in Mining Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Geology, or comparable fields
  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point
  • Strong interest in industrial mineral extraction and processing
  • Valid drivers license
The following is preferred for this role :
  • 3.0 GPA or above
  • Capability of working with ArcGIS and/or CAD software
  • Technical mining experience
  • Participation in relevant curricular and extracurricular activities, organizations, and projects beyond the classroom
