Mill Shop Operator - Bass Pro Shop : Job Details

POSITION SUMMARYThe Mill Shop Operator cuts bulk material into pieces from pre-determined patterns or instructions using manual, and power woodshop tools. Also operates hand and table routers to finish plastic parts.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:* Determines daily production schedule based on list of parts being produced in other departments.* Inspects all parts, discarding any defects, with quality the foremost factor.* Reads and understands work orders and scans work orders in system with scanner.* Performs daily cleaning and maintains cutting equipment.* ALL OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNEDEXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:* Preferred Degree: High School Diploma or EquivalentKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY* Ability to read a tape measure* Ability to use hand tools and small hand-held power tools* Ability to operate air tools including jib crane* Self-motivated* Able to wear person protective equipment such as safety glasses with side shields, hand protection, and hearing protection.TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:* N/APHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:* Light lifting, under 20 lbs.* Light carrying, under 20 lbs.* Moderate lifting, 21-59 lbs.* Moderate carrying, 21 - 59 lbs.* Straight pulling* Pushing* Repeated bending* Reaching over shoulders* Use of fingers* Walking* Standing* Kneeling* Repeated stretching* Specific visual requirements* Ability to distinguish basic colors* Ability to distinguish shades of color* Hearing (aid permitted)* Manual dexterity and stability as required for precision work* Able to see details at close rangeWORK ENVIRONMENT:* Outside and inside* Extreme heat* Extreme humidity* Extreme noise, intermittent* Dust* Fumes, smoke, or gasses* Solvents (degreasing agents)* Slippery or uneven walking surfacesINDEPENDENT JUDGEMENT:* Performs tasks and duties under general supervision, using established procedures and innovation.
