Job Description

Insight Global is hiring for a Midwest Remote Secret Cleared Sr. Database Developer. As a Senior Database Developer, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and maintain robust Oracle database solutions. Youll apply SAFe Agile practices to deliver high-quality features and enhancements while ensuring the security and integrity of database systems. Your daily tasks will include designing and maintaining complex database schemas, optimizing performance through query tuning, and managing database security protocols in compliance with Security+ standards. Youll use tools like SQL Developer for scripting and automation, GitLab for version control, and Jira for task tracking. Regular responsibilities include conducting health checks, troubleshooting issues, performing backups and disaster recovery planning, and staying current with Oracle updates. Youll also mentor junior developers, participate in code reviews, and contribute to the development of database standards and best practices. This role focuses on hands-on development, production issue resolution, and performance tuningnot database administration. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in PL/SQL programming, data modeling, and real-time troubleshooting in production environments. Additionally, you may lead large projects, influence technical decisions, and communicate with internal and external stakeholders.

Skills and Requirements

5+ years of experience in PL/SQL development with Oracle databases.

Strong understanding of relational database design and normalization.

Proven experience in troubleshooting and resolving production database issues.

Proficiency in performance tuning and query optimization.

Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git, GitLab).

Ability to work in Agile or iterative development environments.

Bachelors Degree + Active Secret Clearance Experience with data modeling tools (e.g., ER/Studio, Oracle SQL Developer Data Modeler).

Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.

Exposure to cloud-based database environments (e.g., Oracle Cloud, AWS RDS).
