Leadership Development Tier: Ministry Leader

Reports To: Family Life Pastor

Function: The Middle School Pastor/Director (MSP) serves as the strategic leader of the Middle School Ministry (5th--8th grade), while also overseeing Wednesday Night programming for 1st--4th graders (GEMS and Explorers). This role leads staff and volunteers to help students and families Follow Jesus and Fearlessly Make Him Known, aligned with the mission of the Fearless Family of Churches.

Status: Full-Time, Salaried, Exempt

Exempt employees are expected to work an average of 50 hours per week, with compensation remaining consistent regardless of weekly fluctuations in hours worked.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Vision & Strategy: Develop and implement strategies to engage and disciple mainly middle school students within the Family Life philosophy set forth by the Fearless Family of Churches. In addition, oversee and the Wednesday Night programming for 1st graders to 4th graders (Gems and Explorers).
  • Program Leadership: Serve as the primary teacher, programmer, and creative lead for weekly gatherings, events, retreats, and mission trips within the Middle School Ministry (Tribe, 5th--8th grade). Oversee with volunteer leads the Wednesday's at Ridge programming for 1st--4th grade students (GEMS and Explorers).
  • Team Collaboration: Collaborate with the Family Life Team to engage and equip families across all life stages, integrating students into the broader life of the church.
  • Volunteer Development: Recruit, train, and empower volunteer leaders and life group facilitators to disciple students and foster meaningful relationships that point to Jesus.
  • Outreach Culture: Cultivate a culture where students, families, and leaders actively reach out to peers and neighbors who are far from God.
  • Curriculum Development: Work with the Student Ministry Team to create curriculum that is biblically grounded, creatively presented, and contextually relevant for students. In collaboration with the Wednesday's at Ridge Leaders, agree on curriculum for Gems and Explorers.
  • Communication: Develop and manage a comprehensive communication strategy for Middle School Ministry and Wednesday's at Ridge, utilizing blogs, the church website, social media, and email to connect with students, parents, and volunteers.
  • Parent Engagement: Equip and support parents as the primary spiritual leaders of their children, offering resources, guidance, and leadership development opportunities.
