Microstrategy-Consultant with Tableau - SonSoft : Job Details

SonSoft is an IT Staffing and consulting firm organized under the laws of the Commonwealth of Georgia. We are growing steadily, specializing in Software Development, Software Consultancy, and Information Technology Enabled Services.

Preferred Requirements

• At least 4 years of reporting/visualization experience
• At least 2 years of experience in Microstrategy
• At least 2 years of experience in Tableau

Responsibilities:

• Create business intelligence deliverables such as reports, dashboards, scorecards, and presentations.
• Develop and maintain OLAP structures (cubes) to support reporting needs.
• Provide support for data-related questions and issues, aiming to become a data subject matter expert.
• Create and execute unit tests, documenting results.
• Support functional, integration, system testing, and UAT.
• Assist in deploying solutions into production.
• Maintain design and production system documentation.
• Provide training on BI tools and reports/dashboards.
• Interact with client stakeholders in business and technical roles.
• Follow and promote BI best practices.
• Estimate effort for report creation or modifications.
• Manage BI tool vendor relationships, including issue escalation and review of releases.

Technical Skills:

• Proficient in SQL.
• Experience with Tableau and Microstrategy.
• Report and dashboard creation and enhancement.
• Use of calculated variables and custom formatting.
• Report scheduling and automation.
• BI tool administration, including security, data mapping, archiving, performance tuning, and maintenance.
• Understanding of data warehousing and star schema models.
• Knowledge of Java and iOS programming is desirable.
• Experience with Big Data platforms (e.g., Hadoop, NoSQL).
• Ability to optimize SQL performance using explain plans, partitions, and hints.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent; three years of relevant experience may substitute for each year of education.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in Information Technology.
