GbILS values innovative thinking and a dedication to service in employees.Summary:Goldbelt Integrated Logistics, LLC is looking for a Metrology Technician III/QA. The Metrology Technician III/QA independently determines and performs operations required to calibrate and certify electronic and physical/dimensional measuring and test equipment, maintaining traceability to the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), US Department of Commerce, or by reference to natural constants, and perform duties in a Quality Assurance role as needed. ResponsibilitiesEssential Job Functions:Will assess and utilizes calibration methods and techniques based on principles of measurement science, technical analysis of measurement problems, and accuracy and precision requirements, analyzes magnitude of error sources contributing to uncertainty of results and/or test accuracy ratios to determine reliability of measurement process in quantitative terms.Recommend substitution of standards or measuring equipment if required, diagnoses and repairs malfunctions in complex measuring and test equipment using theories of operation, blocks diagrams, schematics, logic trees, and software diagnostics to the component level.Provide training to apprentice and journeyman technicians on metrology principle, resolving technical problems, and complicated electronic theory, implements quality control plan, identifies nonconformities, analyzes and interprets trends; recommends corrective actions, investigates and identifies root causes of problems.Interprets engineering drawings, schematic diagrams, or formulas to determine quality and reliability standards, inspects measuring and test equipment for preventive maintenance, cleanliness, and safety requirements, analyzes and interprets results of measurements and calibrations using mathematical formulas and authenticate calibration certificates for measurements and calibrations and calibration correction charts.As needed, perform duties as Quality Assurance (QA) or Collateral Duty Inspector (CDI) to include verification of correctness of calibration documentation, verification of correct or acceptable Test Accuracy Ratio (TAR), Test Uncertainty Ratio (TUR), and Probability of False Acceptance (PFA). Perform various forms of Quality Verification Inspections (QVI) as required. Assist and perform Internal Audits as required, or other duties as assigned by Quality Manager. QualificationsNecessary Skills and Knowledge:Knowledge of computer controlled analytical systemsKnowledge of electrical codes and best practicesKnowledge of US Navy Calibration Program InstructionsProficient in Microsoft Office Suite Experience with diagnostic toolsStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsAbility to work cross functionally, individually, and as a part of a teamGood management of time and available resourcesStrong verbal and written communication skillsMinimum Qualifications:Associates Degree in electronics or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications, training, or work experience Minimum five (5) or more years of related industrial/mechanical experienceExperience with calibration and metrology equipmentExperience with diagnostic toolsAbility to obtain and maintain up to a secret clearancePreferred Qualifications:Fluke Met/Team, Fluke Met/Track and Met/Cal experience a plusPay and BenefitsThe pay rate for this position is $33.82 per hour.At Goldbelt, we value and reward our team's dedication and hard work.
