Group/Division

With over 40 years of semiconductor process control experience, KLA supports chipmakers worldwide in ramping next-generation devices efficiently and cost-effectively. Our Global Products Group (GPG), responsible for KLA's metrology and inspection products, is seeking talented research scientists, software engineers, application development engineers, and senior product technology process engineers. The Surfscan group focuses on technology enabling wafer, IC, and equipment manufacturers to develop, qualify, and monitor their process tools. Our flagship Surfscan products include the SPx platforms for wafer surface quality and defect inspection during wafer fabrication.

Job Description/Preferred Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Experience in laser photonics, optical engineering, or optical metrology fields.
  • Skills to operate high-fluence/DUV laser systems and inspection/metrology equipment, handling vendor interactions and design reviews.
  • Proficiency in Diffractive and Metalens fabrication techniques, optical simulation, and measurement tools.
  • Understanding of photonics components such as laser beam profilers, wavefront sensors, PMTs, and CCDs.
  • Proven track record of completing projects on time with limited supervision.
  • Knowledge of optical fabrication, metrology, assembly, and alignment techniques is desirable.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally; travel is not the primary job focus.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Doctorate degree with no related work experience, or
  • Master's degree with 3 years of related experience, or
  • Bachelor's degree with 5 years of related experience.

Base pay range: $114,100 - $194,000 annually. KLA offers comprehensive benefits including health insurance, 401(k), stock purchase plans, tuition reimbursement, career development, wellness programs, paid time off, and family leave.

Interns are eligible for some benefits. Pay ranges depend on role, level, and location, and actual compensation will be discussed during hiring.
