- Develop calibration work schedules for equipment and schedule such activities with supervision to ensure maximum uptime of related equipment.
- Perform calibration, maintenance, and repair of instrumentation.
- Review and approve calibrations performed on equipment by both internal and external calibrators.
- Provide technical input and evaluations for calibrations of instrumentation.
- Research the operating specifications of new equipment, obtain suitable standards, and establish the calibration acceptance criteria.
- Write required standard operating procedures, standard certification methods, and other instructions in compliance with FDA, USP, NIST or other applicable guidelines for equipment.
- Initiate, execute, and close out corrective actions and change control requests for changes affecting calibration of laboratory and manufacturing equipment.
- Assist validation personnel with execution of validation of instrumentation.
What you will bring to the role
- Generally, four years of experience in metrology in a regulated environment with an associate degree in a science or engineering discipline.
- Equivalent trade, military, or relevant technical training may be considered in lieu of formal degree. American Society of Quality, Calibration Technician Certification or equivalent may also be considered in lieu of formal degree
Special Working Conditions
- This position may require the use of personal protective equipment such as lab coats, gloves, safety glasses, and respirator masks in accordance with safety protocols.
- Pre employment requirements may include a background check, drug screen, pulmonary function test, vision test, and DEA debarment screening, depending on the role.
- Ability to perform tasks requiring physical activity, such as standing, walking, or lifting, as applicable to the position.
