The MassachusettsDepartment of Public Health's (MDPH) Bureau of Substance Addiction Services (BSAS) seeks a dynamic applicant for the Metro West Regional Coordinator position. The Metro West Regional Coordinator directs, manages and administers the development and delivery of licensed and state contracted alcohol and drug programs in one or more regions of Massachusetts. Consults individually and in staff conferences with the bureau directors and senior management for purposes of formulating divisional and regional policies, budget allocations and program specifications and evaluations to increase the effectiveness of regional operations. Conducts contract negotiations with Department of Public Health vendors and manages the fiscal and programmatic monitoring of these contracts. Negotiates with other state and private agency directors at the regional level to set interagency agreements and commitments. Hires and provides supervision to staff by assigning work, developing work procedures and schedules consistent with agency policy, and monitoring work performed in order to meet established goals, objectives and target dates. Prepares narratives and data reports for special projects as assigned. Directs and evaluates clinical projects with other state agencies related to the provision of alcohol, drug and mental health services. Provides support to BSAS Central Office on special projects and initiatives.

Applicants must have at least (A) six years of full-time, or equivalent part-time, professional, administrative, supervisory or managerial experience in business administration, business management, public administration, financial management, or professional experience in a particular specialty (i.e. scientific, professional, or technical), and (B) of which four years must have been in a supervisory or managerial capacity, or (C) any equivalent combination of the required experience and the substitutions below.Incumbents may be required to have a current and valid motor vehicle driver's license at a class level specific to assignment.Substitutions :I. A Bachelor's or higher degree with a major in business administration, business management, public administration, financial management, or degree related directly to the specialty may be substituted for one year of the required (A) experience.

Salary placement is determined by a combination of factors, including the candidate's years of directly related experience and education, and alignment with our internal compensation structure as set forth by the Human Resources Division's Hiring Guidelines. For all bargaining unit positions (non-management), compensation is subject to the salary provisions outlined in the applicable collective bargaining agreement and will apply to placement within the appropriate salary range.
