JOB TITLE: Paint Department - Metal Preparation and Priming REPORTS TO: Paint Department Supervisor POSITION OVERVIEW As a vital member of the Life Line Emergency Vehicle team, the Metal Preparation and Priming Specialist takes on one of the most critical steps in the vehicle finishing process-prepping bare metal for a durable, high-quality prime. This role demands a mix of skill, focus, and resilience as you ready trucks, doors, and parts for the paint team. Each day, you'll handle tasks like applying bondo to corner caps, sanding down rough edges, and meticulously cleaning surfaces to ensure smooth and secure finishes. You'll also manage and maintain equipment, help teammates, and tackle other prep and priming responsibilities with efficiency and precision. WORKING HOURS: 6:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. Monday - Friday Flexibility is required, with occasional early or late shifts as needed. RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepare and prime bare metal trucks, doors, and parts according to specifications.
- Apply bondo to corner caps, sand, and clean parts for quality finishing.
- Operate, or learn to operate, buffers and other assigned equipment.
- Mix paint following standard procedures.
- Troubleshoot, problem-solve, and make decisions as necessary.
- Maintain a high level of organization with attention to detail and quality.
- Use precise measuring and mathematical skills to meet job requirements.
- Provide training to other employees on department processes.
- Read and interpret blueprints and work orders accurately.
- Meet or exceed cost reduction goals and production efficiencies.
- Understand and apply manufacturing methods and techniques.
- Maintain knowledge of Life Line products and necessary production materials.
- Work closely with Engineering staff and collaborate on production needs.
- Communicate effectively with team members and other departments.
- Adhere strictly to all safety policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

EXPERIENCE
- Previous auto body experience preferred; knowledge of Life Line products is a plus.
EDUCATION
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical training in a related field or equivalent experience is preferred.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Ability to stand, walk, grip, reach, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crawl, lift, move, and carry.
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
