Base pay range

$130,000.00/yr - $150,000.00/yr

Growing design-build firm is seeking an experienced MEP Project Manager to join their team in New York City. The ideal candidate will bring proven experience managing MEP projects and be familiar with both union and non-union environments. This role offers exposure to a range of technically complex projects, including infrastructure upgrades, data centers, utility services, solar installations, and select interior renovations. Some travel may be required for projects outside New York.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage 4–5 active projects with varying scopes and complexity.
  • Serve as the primary liaison with clients, ensuring successful project execution.
  • Interpret and review project specifications, drawings, and safety protocols.
  • Coordinate smooth handoffs from estimating to project management.
  • Work with superintendents to generate submittal logs, project schedules, RFIs, safety documents, and logistics plans using Procore.
  • Review pre-purchased equipment submittals before fabrication.
  • Lead weekly meetings with clients and subcontractors; document minutes and agendas.
  • Conduct internal safety audits and ensure OSHA compliance.
  • Oversee labor scheduling and payroll submissions.
  • Support preconstruction efforts with internal engineers and design teams.
  • Assist estimating teams by providing input on general conditions and site logistics.
  • Expand and maintain subcontractor bid lists (union and non-union).
  • Prepare Methods of Procedure (MOPs) for critical shutdowns and transitions.
  • Manage change orders and coordinate closely with accounting to track budgets and approvals.
  • Attend monthly budget reviews to ensure projects remain on target.
  • Resolve scope conflicts and drive project closeouts, including punch lists and inspections.
  • Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, Engineering, or Estimating.
  • 5–7 years of experience in construction, including 2–3 years managing MEP projects.
  • Proficiency in Procore and Microsoft Project/Office Suite.
  • Excellent attention to detail, with the ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work both independently and in teams.
