MEP Engineer - Tesla Motors : Job Details

We are seeking an experiencedMEP Engineerto join our team at Giga Factory Texas in Austin. The ideal candidate will have7-10 years of experiencein designing, optimizing, and managing dry and wet mechanical systems, with experience in industrial greenfield and brownfield projects.

• Understanding process requirements and crafting of the Basis of Design (BOD), to meet the users requirements
• Design and review MEP systems, HVAC dry and hydronics, plumbing, understanding of fire protection, in accordance with project requirements and relevant codes
• Interact with AHJ for compliance
• Perform site inspections and quality checks to ensure construction aligns with design specifications and standards
• Apply ASHRAE, NFPA, ICC, ASME, and other applicable standards in HVAC system design and energy calculations
• Prepare engineering drawings, specifications, equipment schedules, system layouts, and calculations
• Lead equipment procurement workflows from RFP through PO and FAT and commissioning

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience

• Professional Engineer (PE) license required
• 5+ years of relevant experience in MEP engineering
• Proven experience designing and coordinating MEP systems using tools such as Revit, AutoCAD, ACC, BIM, Carrier HAP, or Trane Trace 700, and Revizto or Naviswork for clash coordination
• Deep understanding of HVAC, plumbing, and electrical design principles and their integration in large-scale projects
• Strong working knowledge of ASHRAE standards and other applicable codes (e.g., NFPA, NEC, ICC)
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
