Mental Well-Being Specialist

We are currently seeking a dedicated and motivated Mental Well-being Specialist to work for a high-profile client.

This role follows a hybrid schedule, with four days on-site and one day of remote work each week. On-site work will be split between the client's New York City and Northern New Jersey offices.

Job Overview

As a Mental Well-being Specialist, you will focus on reducing stigma and building inclusivity at the workplace. Your strengths lie in your ability to motivate and engage members in their journey toward improved mental health, your preparedness to connect employees to one another, advocate for mental health, and lead with care. You will help the client build and enhance their workplace culture of inclusivity and health equity, deliver engaging educational activities, lead employee mental health training, and provide emotional well-being outreach campaigns. You will also use data and population feedback to identify opportunities for driving lifestyle and behavior change through increased population engagement.

What You Will Do
  • Coordinate, develop and deliver mental health education about emotional well-being by analyzing employee health and lifestyle data, and support employer offerings.
  • Partner with the client, vendors and community resources to execute workplace mental well-being and social-determinants-of-health strategy to improve employees' emotional health and resilience.
  • Organize and conduct Mental Health First Aid training for eligible employees.
  • Build, lead and develop the client's Mental Health Peer Network of employees to share feedback, provide ongoing mental health training and education and localize and expand programming to other locations and departments.
What We Are Looking For
  • A bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., psychology, social work, counseling, health promotion or other related mental health disciplines).
  • Three or more years of experience in mental or behavioral health, an Employee Assistance Plan, health promotion, health management, organizational behavior or a related field.
  • The ability to multi-task, and to execute time-management, problem-solving, organizational and follow-up skills.
  • Strong technical and regulatory knowledge.
  • The ability to network, engage and interact with all clients, guests and members.
  • Competence with Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Health plan experience.
  • Please note: onsite expectations may increase in the future, based on client requirements.
Additional Knowledge And Experience That You Can Bring To This Role, But Which Is Not Required
  • A master's degree in psychology-related field.
  • Training in workplace and organizational dynamics.
  • Related Health Promotion or Public Health certification, such as National Commission for Health Education Credentialing (NCHEC), WellCert Certified Wellness Practitioner or CHES (Certified Health Education Specialist).
  • Mental Health First Aid instructor certification.
  • Five years of industry experience.

Pay is based on several factors including, but not limited to, education, work experience, certifications, geographic differentials, and other business and organizational needs.
