Mental Health Technician - PEP Unit - Full Time - Nights - Behavioral Health Experience Required - Elliot Health System : Job Details

The Mental Health Technician works under the direction of the RN Charge Nurse, and shares responsibility for providing and maintaining a therapeutic milieu through supervised therapeutic activities. The Mental Health Technician facilitates and provides direct care for patients of all ages; supports the therapeutic milieu; ensures the safety and well-being of patients. What Youll Do:Participates in conversation, recreational activities, and basic living activities. Sets limits, confronts counterproductive behavior, and reassures and orients patients. Performs safety checks and assists in managing therapeutic milieu. Collaborates with other unit personnel with crisis intervention techniques. Facilitates and leads community meetings and groups. Who You Are: Associates degree, Certification in Behavioral Sciences program, or its equivalent coursework required 6 months experience in behavioral health setting preferred.
