DescriptionOPPORTUNITY Central Minnesota Mental Health Center (CMMHC) has a rewarding opportunity to serve as a Adult Rehabilitative Mental Health Practitionerwithin the Saint Cloud & Stearns County area. The Mental Health Practitioner: ARMHS is responsible for home- and community-based rehabilitative mental health services to individuals diagnosed with a mental illness and co-occurring disorders. WHAT IS ADULT REHABILITATIVE MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES? Adult Rehabilitative Mental Health Services (ARMHS) is a service provided to individuals working toward recovery. In this role, you will support clients in developing and maintaining essential life skills that promote independence and personal growth. Services focus on skill-building in areas such as emotional regulation, social interaction, independent living, community engagement, and mental health symptom management. Key responsibilities include helping clients with:
  • Communication and interpersonal skills
  • Accessing and using community resources
  • Crisis management and relapse prevention
  • Daily living skills such as cooking, budgeting, and transportation
  • Managing mental and physical health
  • Educational and employment support
  • Navigating benefits and support systems
This position plays a vital role in empowering individuals to achieve their personal goals and lead fulfilling lives in their communities. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Ensures immediate and appropriate interventions are provided in response to changes in mental status, symptoms or behavior that may put the recipient at risk, changes must be made in the Individual Treatment Plan.
  • Establish therapeutic relationships with assigned recipients and meet with each client as planned; Must have a good understanding of therapeutic boundaries.
  • Reflects a philosophy that is respectful and appreciative of cultural and other differences that may be encountered when interacting with co-workers and in serving recipients.
  • Involves driving to client homes or various locations within the community where services are provided, and occasionally transporting recipients per supervisor direction.
  • Prepares DLA-2- assessments, Mental Health Information System (MHIS) reporting and develop individual treatment plans for assigned recipients; complete individual crisis plans annually; review and revise each document as required.
  • Responsible for care coordination and ongoing participation in collaborative treatment planning meetings, whether it involves coordination within CMMHC's programs or with another entity identified in the Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC) statutory language related to care coordination.
  • Participate actively in staff meetings and supervision.
RequirementsWHAT YOU'LL NEED
  • Has at least 4,000 hours of supervised experience in the delivery of services to adults or children with
- mental illness, substance use disorder, or emotional disturbance; or - Traumatic brain injury or developmental disabilities and completes training on mental illness, recovery from mental illness, mental health de-escalation techniques, co-occurring mental illness and substance abuse, and psychotropic medications and side effects. Or
  • An individual is qualified as a mental health practitioner through relevant coursework if the individual completes at least 30 semester hours or 45 quarter hours in behavioral sciences or related fields and:
- has at least 2,000 hours of experience providing services to individuals with: (i) a mental illness or a substance use disorder; or (ii) a traumatic brain injury or a developmental disability, and completes the additional training described in section 245I.05, subdivision 3, paragraph (c), before providing direct contact services to a client; Or
  • Holds a master's degree or other graduate degree in behavioral sciences or related fields.
Or
  • Holds a bachelor's degree in behavioral sciences or related fields and completes a practicum or internship that (1) requires direct interaction with adults or children served, and (2) is focused on behavioral sciences or related fields.
Or is fluent in the non-English language of the ethnic group to which at least 50 percent of the individual's clients belong, and completes the additional training described in section 245I.05, subdivision 3, paragraph (c), before providing direct contact services to a client;
