Job Summary:

We are searching for a passionate and skilled Mental Health Provider to offer essential mental health services to individuals in a county jail system. Location: Robertson County Detention Center

Open Position: Licensed Professional Counselor, MSW Social Worker

Schedule: 10 hours per week, Flexible Schedule

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of inmates' mental health needs through standardized tools and clinical interviews.
  • Create and implement personalized treatment plans aimed at stabilization, skill-building, and successful re-entry into society.
  • Provide both individual and group counseling focused on issues such as substance abuse, trauma, anger management, and coping skills.
  • Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team, including corrections personnel, healthcare professionals, and probation officers to ensure holistic care.
  • Facilitate referrals to internal programs and external community resources for continued support post-release.
  • Maintain precise and timely documentation of assessments, treatment plans, sessions, and all pertinent information.
  • Stay updated on best practices in correctional mental health and pursue ongoing professional development opportunities.

Qualifications:

  • Master's Level: A master's degree in counseling or social work, current licensure (LPC, MSW, etc.), and eligibility for correctional mental health certification (preferred).
  • Knowledge of evidence-based practices for working with justice-involved individuals.
  • Strong clinical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and potentially challenging environment.
  • A commitment to cultural competence and inclusivity while working with diverse populations.
  • Registered Nurse: Minimum of 2 years of experience in psychiatric nursing.
  • Experience with varied patient populations and diagnoses (e.g., substance abuse, personality disorders, psychosis) is preferred.
  • Experience in correctional health is a plus, but not mandatory.

Working Conditions:
