Mental Health Counselor II (Part-Time) - University of Pittsburgh Medical Center : Job Details

Casework Activities: Assist residents with medical appointments, emergency care, financial assistance, budgeting, and daily living skills. Provide hands-on help and public transportation education. Documentation Activities: Write detailed shift notes, give verbal reports, complete medication documentation, and report issues. Conduct and document resident health measurements. Counseling Activities: Build effective relationships, meet weekly with consumers to discuss progress, help set and achieve goals, provide life guidance, use crisis intervention techniques, and lead social/educational groups. ADL Activities: Orient residents to the community, educate on emergency procedures, teach social skills, communicate with the treatment team, attend meetings, liaise with service providers, and perform safety checks. Bachelor's degree required. Experience in the career counseling of clients with alcohol/substance abuse problems and/or clients from other disadvantaged populations preferred.
