That's the spirit of our culture - supportive, inclusive, and empowering.Responsibilities:The Valeo Coordinator maintains an organized and diversified program of individual and group activities, which will enable each resident to engage in diverse cultural, spiritual, physical, social and intellectual activities within the community in order to sustain and promote the resident's potential and sense of usefulness to self and others.Provides outstanding services to all residents, family members, responsible persons, and visitorsEffectively communicates verbally and in writing to team members, families, and residentsConducts quarterly resident surveys, evaluating current activities and suggesting new ones to their supervisorAssists their supervisor in the preparation of a Schedule of Activities one month in advance of its implementation, which is amended when necessary to reflect changesEnsures that a full Valeo program and philosophy is implemented seven days a weekDrives the van when necessaryAssists with programming in Salus/AL department as neededMaintains resident Birthday List and delivers birthday cards to residents in a timely mannerWorks closely with appointed community team members to coordinate activities/ programsParticipates in the wellness planning of residents by communicating observations to the Wellness Director, both directly and at staff meetingsMaintains a record of each resident's activitiesPosts the current monthly, weekly, and daily Schedule of Activities in public areas and at the wellness center, and distributes to department managersNotifies department managers in advance of work schedule variationsAccommodates special events, evening, and weekend programs, etc., in work schedulesFollows all emergency proceduresUnderstands safety policies and proceduresSincerely committed to working with the community's older adult populationCreative, energetic, enthusiastic, patient, flexible, encouraging, and team-orientedEffectively manage team members and volunteersDisplays patience, tact, enthusiasm, and a cheerful dispositionCreates a positive atmosphere for residents with an engaging variety of activitiesPromotes the Community in a positive manner and effectively communicates Community values to residents, families, and team membersQualifications:An associate degree from an accredited college or university, or proof of satisfactory completion of two years of college, with major course of study in recreation or related field orTwo years of full-time experience in the recreation field in an older adult populationDriver Requirements: State driver license required with clean driving record; must complete all HR policies and procedures for Community driverExcellent communication, organization, and time management skillsBasic typing skills and computer knowledge to include familiarity with MS Word and other pertinent softwarePhysically able to bend and reachPhysically able to push and pull and lift up to 40-50 pounds if necessaryPhysically able to stand for extended periods of timeSuccessful completion of company Dementia and specialized programming in-servicesMiscellaneous:May be video recorded from devices installed by families in residents' apartmentsMay have picture taken and image used in social media or community advertisingMay be required to work weekends and holidays as assignedMay be subject to exposure to infectious waste, diseases, conditions, etc., including HIV, AIDS, and Hepatitis B & C virusesCould be subject to hostile and emotionally upset Residents due to mental statusMust be in good physical and emotional health and free of communicable diseasesBackground, criminal, and drug tests may be requiredMay be asked to submit to random drug test during employment
