As a non-profit conservation organization, we are funded and supported entirely by our visitors, supporters, volunteers, and our 100,000 Member households.We encourage you to learn more about The Trustees on our website, www.thetrustees.org.Posting Information:Salary/Hourly Rate: $19 - $21/per hourHours per week: 40, Monday - FridayJob Classification: Non-exempt, full-timeJob Type: Hybrid, one day per week in Boston officeLocation: Boston, MAWhat You'll Do:Your Impact:As a Membership Associate, you will process incoming gifts from Trustees Members and prospective Members.The Role:You will operate in a fast-paced, high volume, team environment, and be an integral part of our processing team. You are enthusiastic, detail oriented, and flexible, with outstanding organizational, interpersonal, and teamwork skills. A high degree of data-entry accuracy, an unflappable demeanor, eagerness to help guests and staff, and the ability to communicate progress on tasks and responsibilities with team members are essential.Specifically, you'll:
- Accurately and efficiently process Membership applications and annual appeal gifts received via mail, phone, online, and property joins. This includes batch gift entry to Salesforce.
- Accurately process Membership program add-ons (includes parking permits, ski passes, etc)
- Provide exceptional customer service to Members on the phone and through email
- Maintain knowledge of current Membership policies and procedures and communicate these to Members as needed
- Promote full range of benefits to prospective Members and guide them through the application process
- Research and resolve issues concerning Memberships, visitor services questions, and other feedback
- Assist with weekly fulfilment mailings
- Assist with processing of corporate matching gifts
- Occasionally respond to both calls and emails from Members and Trustees Visitors.
- Additional department projects as assigned, with or without accommodation
This is a full-time, non-exempt position [40 hours per week] reporting directly to the Director of Membership Engagement.RequirementsWhat You'll Need:Skills and Experience:Required:
- Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent experience in an office environment, preferably in a customer service or membership role
- Expertise with PC applications such as Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.
- Excellent customer service communications skills
- Proactive problem solver, dedicated to getting the right answer through research and deductive reasoning
- Positive and professional phone manner
- A team player with a strong commitment to work collaboratively with colleagues, volunteers, and partners
- Highly organized and detail-oriented
- Self-motivated and able to work without close supervision
- Able to prioritize multiple tasks and establish and meet deadlines
- Must be able to lift and carry upwards of 20 pounds.
Preferred:
- Familiarity with Salesforce, Raiser's Edge, or comparable fundraising-database software or CRM system, highly preferred
- Familiarity with ACME or comparable ticketing and POS software preferred
- Familiarity with help-desk software preferred
