Membership is the lifeblood of our work — and the Member Services Manager will play a central role in helping us understand, grow, and engage our membership community.

Job Overview:

Under the direction of the Director of Marketing & Communications, the Member Services Manager (MSM) will serve as the liaison between CWA and its members. In partnership with the marketing and fundraising departments, the MSM will develop strategies and implement key efforts to maximize member count and donations.This position is responsible for ensuring a positive and engaged membership experience, overseeing the membership database, executing strategic mailings, and generating data-informed insights to grow and retain our base. This role also supports and advises other departments with key reporting, list generation, and data coordination.

The ideal candidate will be a thought leader with a strong ability to pull insights from data and use those insights to take concrete actions to drive member KPIs.They will have a passion for understanding our members' needs and represent their voice in strategic discussions.

Key KPIs for this position: member headcount, member retention, member satisfaction, and net revenue raised from marketing mailers.

This position has the potential to have a direct report in the future (e.g., a coordinator or assistant).

This is a 100% in-office role at our Roseville, California office.

Essential Functions:

·Oversee Membership CRM Database (DonorPerfect): Manage integrity, accuracy and day-to-day updates of membership data including renewals, pledges, gifts, and online transactions.

·Strategic Mailing and Campaign Execution: Manage and optimize direct mail and email campaigns for renewals, fundraising and outreach. Use response tracking and list segmentation to maximize impact.Partner with warehouse operations to ensure timely fulfillment of member gifts.

·Ensure alignment between CRM Database and backend website (GiveCloud) transactional data.Manage item (SKU) set up for membership and fundraising campaigns, including coding to ensure accurate transaction records in the CRM Database and accounting system.

·Develop Member Insights: Assist in the creation of surveys to understand member needs and sentiment to inform CWA's strategies.

·Reporting and Data Analysis: Generate recurring and ad hoc membership reports. Provide insights into member acquisition, retention, pledge activity, and campaign performance. Develop strategic recommendations to guide leadership and improve outcomes.

·Lifecycle Communications and Gift Fulfillment: Send pledge reminders, thank-you letters, decals, pins and plaques as appropriate. Ensure timely and accurate fulfillment of member benefits.

·Member Engagement & Support: Serve as a point of contact for membership inquiries. Respond to phone, email and written questions in a timely and professional manner. Track and follow up on complex requests with appropriate staff.

·Interdepartmental Collaboration: Provide accurate member lists and data support for events, publications, marketing, and development campaigns.

·Perform other duties as directed.

·A commitment to support hunting and hunters.

·Strong data management skills, ideally with experience in DonorPerfect or similar CRM.

· A Bachelor's degree, ideally in marketing, communications, business administration, public administration or a data-related field.

·Strategic thinker with the ability to interpret data and make actionable recommendations.

·Excellent communication skills — both written and verbal.

·Ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and manage time effectively.

·3+ years of experience in nonprofit membership, donor services, development, consumer insights, or similar roles.

·Advanced MS Office Excel skills; Proficiency with Word, Outlook.

·Strong interpersonal skills and a positive, problem-solving approach.

Additional Desired Skills - Not Mandatory, But Any of These Will Help Set You Apart:

· Prior experience optimizing direct mail or membership campaigns.

·Familiarity with membership analytics, segmentation, or modeling.

·Knowledge of hunting or conservation-related nonprofits.

·Familiarity with marketing email platforms like Constant Contact.

·Familiarity with survey platforms such as Survey Monkey.
