Medior Observability Engineer - Nielsen Norman : Job Details

Work on observability and be a significant part of the chain monitoring within NN! Do you have the motivation and perseverance to apply your Java, Python, AWS, and Splunk knowledge within our observability environment? Then we have an exciting challenge for you!

You will build, maintain, and coach around our observability tools like Splunk and ITSI. Together with your observability colleagues, you will setup dashboards, guard data quality, and coach users how to make good use of this within their business unit.

• Actively discuss the desired functionalities with users
• Implement new functionalities
• Monitor the quality and integrate your product into the already available facilities
• Work in a team and function as a backup for your colleagues

Your way of communicating and explaining things clearly gets people on board. This is perfect for conveying and advising users. You empathize with others and understand what information is needed to truly help someone. Thus, you are an important ambassador for the team. You actively collaborate for the best service and motivate your colleagues to go that extra mile with you.

You are curious and have good conceptual thinking. Naturally, you have:

• You have a passion for IT
• You have a bachelor's degree in computer science or similar field
• 2+ years experience in Splunk Cloud Enterprise
• Knowledge of Splunk ITSI is a big plus
• Knowledge of OpenTelemetry
• Knowledge of Infra and Cloud (AWS/Azure)
• Knowledge of Python, JavaScript, and Java
• Fluent in English, as working in an international environment will be required

You will join the Observability team of 8 professionals, each technically or functionally skilled and always on the lookout for the latest developments. You certainly won't stay in your own bubble: your team is on the Splunk platform and collaborates closely with other technical engineers with whom you exchange a lot of knowledge.
