Job Description :
We are currently looking for a Full Time Medical Support Technician Floater to join our MST Group F team located at the Chickasaw Nation Medical Center.Summary:Provides front desk support, identifies third party benefits such as Medicare, Medicaid and or private insurance, performs registration according to Chickasaw Nation eligibility guidelines and prepares the appropriate documents for the professional staff needed for the visit.Responsibilities:* Answers the phone, transfers call, takes messages and screens calls per guidelines for areas served* Maintains confidentiality, security, and integrity of data and information in accordance with HIPAA regulations* Properly reactives a retired / archived record* Flexibility in cross-training and providing coverage for clinic to clinic* Establishes a visit in the electronic health record for provider and clinical staff through the check in process* Determines the eligibility of patients seeking health care* Reviews and corrects as necessary registration error reports with a supervisor* Explains the program to beneficiaries* Performs pre-registration duties when applicable* Provides a Routing slip, Medication Reconciliation List and other documents as appropriate to the patient* Schedules new patient, referral and follow-up appointments, handles all cancellations, and communicates appointment reminders* Collects and verifies third party Medicare, Medicaid and or Private insurance and obtains appropriate authorization signatures* Generates text message appointment reminders and runs Alert Solution reports for cancellations, when applicable* Adjusts to different clinic settings and processes* Refers patients as appropriate for Medicaid and or Medicare eligibility* Assists in maintaining a friendly, clean, safe and neat work environment* Maintains offices supplies, forms and equipment in levels sufficient for optimal office functions* Assists line of support by performing Quality Assurance on scanned documents through the Vista assuring proper scanned process with a minimum accuracy rate standard of 98%* Verifies eligibility of third-party resources per department policy* Communicates the advantage of our health system billing the patient's insurance from the patient standpoint as well as the facility standpoint* Obtains customer demographics, inputs into computer system and prepares customer folder and files* Provides first class customer service - courteous and helpful to all internal and external customer types- Answers questions in a courteous and professional manner- Greets and engages with a smile- Determines needs, seeks positive experience and outcomes* Completes all training and development requirements and participates in continuing education opportunities* Works in a collaborative and supportive manner to support the productivity and safety of the work area, team members and customers of all types- Maintains general upkeep of work area and maintains a safe environment- Maintains and promotes professionalism- Punctual and consistent in meeting start time, work schedule, attendance and other assigned work time metrics- Adheres to Chickasaw Nation dress code standards* Maintains knowledge of and follows all laws, rules, regulations, policies and SOPs for assigned area, e.g. MICS, TICS, hospital standards, health codes, food sanitation, accounting principles, etc.* Performs all other duties as assignedCompetencies:Essential:* Able to follow instructions, both written and oral * Able to adhere to all scheduling and attendance requirements* Maintaining a high level of confidentiality and using discretion and discernment* Honesty, truthfulness, reliability, accountability* Able to read, understand, apply, and retain knowledge of Chickasaw Nation, departmental, divisional and all other rules, regulations, policies, procedures and guidelines* Possess basic knowledge of medical terminology* Knowledge and understanding of the Resource and Patient Management System (RPMS) * Understands the flow of medical and administrative data within the system including, but not limited to: Registration, Scheduling, Admissions, PMAS (Billing and Accounts Receivable), including additional supporting health care applications and the access needed* Knowledge of complex scheduling software* Knowledge and understanding of special populations, including sensitivity to the First American culture* Knowledge in the use of office automation equipment, basic computer skills and typing is necessary* Ability to multitask* Ability to remain professional in all circumstances* Able to verbally communicate in a professional and positive manner with other team members, departments, guests and management* Writes effective communications with team, departments, guests and managementSkills:Essential:* Must be flexible and be able to adapt to last minute changes* Must be able to operate a computer and/or other equipment related to specific role (i.e. automated currency counters, calculator, projector, binding machine, other related office equipment)* Accurately type 30 words per minuteExperience:Essential:* 1 year directly related experienceEducation:Essential:* High School, GED or EquivalentCredentials:Essential:* Pass general background checkWorking Conditions:Essential:* Works in an office setting* Frequently bend, kneel, stoop, push, reach* Sometimes lift and or carry up to 25 lbs* Sitting up to 100% of shift* Standing up to 50% of shift* Walking up to 50% of shift* May work day shift* May work evening shift* May work holidays* May be on-call* May work weekend shift* Pass pre-employment drug test
