Job Summary

The Medical Science Liaison (MSL) / Senior Medical Science Liaison (Sr. MSL) is a field-facing representative of US Medical Affairs with primary responsibilities including engaging in the exchange of scientific data and other medical and scientific information with external customers such as healthcare providers, researchers, professional organization leaders, and population-based decision makers, specifically in areas of Eisai's interest. This role requires demonstrating a thorough understanding of customer needs, issues, and priorities related to Eisai's strategic business plan. The Sr. MSL also brings insights from the field on research developments, treatment landscapes, and new medical concepts, and will take on leadership roles by mentoring and managing special projects.

Essential Functions
  • Product/Therapeutic Area Support:
    • Serve as the primary clinical/scientific resource to healthcare providers regarding disease states and Eisai's products.
    • Act as a conduit for accurate scientific and medical information exchange between Key Opinion Leaders and Eisai's Medical Affairs.
    • Build and maintain relationships with KOLs in therapeutic areas of interest.
    • Present clinical and scientific data to decision-makers and support professional congresses.
    • Report scientific insights and develop strategic plans for territories.
  • Training/Education Resource:
    • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of disease states, study methodologies, and product data.
    • Serve as a scientific resource to commercial teams and mentor less experienced MSLs.
  • Research Support:
    • Facilitate review and follow-up of Investigator-Initiated Studies and Eisai-sponsored trials.
    • Act as a primary contact for external investigators submitting IISs.
  • Professional Organization Support: Lead efforts supporting Eisai's collaborations with professional organizations and advocacy groups.
  • Educational and Experience Requirements
    • Doctorate degree in medical or health sciences (MD, PhD, PharmD, etc.).
    • Experience: 0-3 years for MSL, at least 3 years in Oncology/Hematology for Sr. MSL.
    • Strong scientific knowledge, clinical trial experience, and knowledge of treatment guidelines and regulations.
    • Existing relationships with KOLs in Oncology/Hematology preferred.

    • Excellent communication, presentation, and teaching skills.
    • Strategic thinking, cross-functional collaboration, and project management skills.
    • Ability to work independently, travel frequently, and engage with healthcare professionals in person.
    Additional Information

    Salary ranges are $144,300 - $189,400 for MSL and $160,100 - $210,100 for Sr. MSL. The role involves approximately 60% travel, including international travel. Candidates must be able to set up a home-based office and meet credentialing or vaccination requirements as needed.
