ChristianaCare School-Based Health Center is looking for a Medical Office Assistant I.
ChristianaCare School-Based Health Centers offer comprehensive physical, behavioral, and preventive health services to school-aged youth, provided by qualified medical and behavioral health providers. Delaware's Division of Public Health, in collaboration with schools, families, healthcare providers, and community agencies, will provide comprehensive preventative, primary, and mental health care for adolescents in public high schools, aiming to improve health, academic achievement, and overall well-being.
The School-Based Health Center aims to address the health issues of adolescents by providing comprehensive health services, age-appropriate medical care, and health education to reduce high-risk behaviors. It also aims to improve access to mental health services and psychosocial problems. The center coordinates with students' medical homes and primary care providers, encourages parental/school involvement, and raises community awareness of wellness centers. The ultimate goal is to reduce critical health problems among adolescents.

Work Schedule
Duties / Responsibilities:
As a Medical Office Assistant I, you will be involved with scheduling appointments, interacting with patients professionally, and ensuring patient confidentiality. Collecting demographic and financial information, processing referrals, and verifying insurance reimbursement eligibility. The Medical Office Assistant I will be involved in day-end reconciliation of appointments and payments received. You will need to answer phone calls professionally, relays messages to providers, and communicates with providers and staff through electronic medical records (EMR). You will keep patients informed about issues and facilitate tests, labs, and appointments. An office assistant prepares medical records, research issues, and respond to patients professionally. Assist with administrative tasks and adhere to departmental safety rules.
