Medical Laboratory Technician - UnityPoint Health : Job Details

Performs routine lab testing in hematology, blood bank, special chemistry, chemistry and microbiology departments following proper laboratory procedure and follow up of critical lab values. Performs and verifies quality control and instrument maintenance and troubleshooting. Collect, receive and process laboratory samples and sendouts following proper laboratory procedures. Perform inventory management and other miscellaneous tasks as needed. Qualifications. Education:Associate degree in lab science or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institutionor. Qualify as Testing Personnel under Federal Register Sec 493.1489 License/ Certifications:MLT/ CLA-ASCP (non regulatory) - Must present record of certification to the Laboratory Director within 1 year of employment. Valid driver's license when driving any vehicle for work-related reasons. Other:Must be able to read, write and speak English.
