Medical Lab Technician - Full Time Nights - MLK Community Hospital : Job Details

Reporting to the Lead Medical Laboratory Technincian, and Manager of Lab Services, the Medical Laboratory Technicians (MLT) primary responsibility is to perform waived and moderately complex laboratory testing on patients samples. In this capacity the MLT performs the preanalytical, analytical and post analytical testing and is responsible for quality control, equipment maintenance and all reporting and documentation. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES - Reviews and evaluates waived and moderately complex test results to determine accuracy and reasonableness utilizing delta checks and analyzer flags. When applicable, determines the steps necessary to resolve discrepancies or problems with specimens. Either acts to resolve problem or refers problem to CLS. Performs and monitors quality control functions for waived and moderately complex tests and tests that do not require microscopic analysis.
