POSITION TITLE: Design/Segmentation Specialist
LOCATION: Portage, MI
DURATION: Contract position for 1 year with a high possibility of extension**
SALARY: $20 hourly on W2
CONTRACT: 18 Months
OVERVIEW:
This role focuses on creating 3D bone models from medical images for use in robotic-assisted surgery. It involves meticulous review, segmentation, and planning tasks using specialized software.

We're open to candidates from a variety of backgrounds, including:
- Gaming industry
- Graphic design
- Photoshop users
- Service industry (with a history of long-term employment)
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Create cases to be completed using a proprietary case management system.
- Review images/data for conformity to the surgical equipment protocol.
- Segment images/data using specialized software to create 3D Anatomical Bone Models for use in Robotic Surgery.
- Create Pre-Operative Surgical Plans using the previously created Digital Bone Models for robotically assisted Total Hip and Total Knee Replacement.
- Review CT segmentations and Surgical Plans for accuracy of anatomical landmark selection, implant sizing, and positioning.
- Upload completed Pre-plans to field-based personnel.
- Very little customer interaction, more of a digital manufacturing role.
- Mixture of practice and live cases during training with oversight.
- 20-30 cases per day per person.
- Roughly 15 min per process step. 2 process steps.
- Software can work for individuals with color blindness.
REQUIREMENTS
MUST HAVES
- High School Diploma is required.
- Very keen on details.
- Candidates must be willing to be trained and work independently with less supervision.
- High professional maturity, many updates/changes throughout the year
- Attendance is important, especially during the first several weeks of training.
- Time management is an important soft skill to have for this role.
- Computer literacy is important, basic computer skills/mechanics.
PREFERED SKILLS BUT NOT REQUIRED
- Biology, Biochemistry, or basic familiarity with anatomy.
- Manufacturing experience.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Repetitive in nature, can be monotonous, not a lot of social interaction, good for independent contributors.
- 8-Week Program - classroom environment.
- The first 2 weeks in the classroom then 6 weeks of individual training with an overview with a trainer, then as they progress back to the classroom and then to the floor.
- Will be trained on how to use the software, navigation, medical terms, and other software will be taught during training.
- Individual training with the trainers after 2 weeks
- Office style setting. Large group and broken down into pods, roughly 5 people per pod.
- Voluntary overtime available. Not required.
