Job functions include: In this role you will provide nursing care by managing medications, monitoring residents, maintaining records, and supporting all resident care. Foster a safe, supportive, and comforting environment, and offer emotional, social, and medical support that enriches the lives of our residents. We are seeking someone who is dependable, compassionate, and ready to serve with excellence to:
- Dispense medications and treatments properly, according to medical orders
- Order medications in a timely manner to ensure that residents have all needed medications
- Document and keep accurate records of all resident medications, vital signs, nursing care and all other services provided to residents
- Assess and respond to residents' needs quickly and appropriately
- Assist and support assigned personal caregivers (PCGs)
- Respond rapidly and appropriately to emergencies while maintaining resident and co-worker safety at all times
- Monitor residents and reports any changes in skin condition, appetite, behavior, emotional needs, etc.
Work Schedules: This position requires availability to work weekends and holidays as scheduled. Full-time and Part-time shifts available. Experience Requirements:
- Experience working with geriatrics/elderly population preferred
Requirements Job Requirements include:
- Adheres to HIPPA regulations at all times, including not discussing residents' circumstances with other departments or non-authorized individuals and maintains confidentiality at all times
- Maintains clean work area and helps support a clean and comfortable environment for all residents and staff
- Uses safe and appropriate body mechanics when lifting and/or transferring residents
- Follows all infectious control protocol and policies
- Completes daily charting and paperwork as required in a timely manner, this may include use of telephone, fax machine, and other equipment
- Consistently demonstrates a positive and compassionate attitude toward residents, co-workers, families, and the public.
Physical Requirements:
- Lift, push/pull up to 100lbs while assisting residents, pushing wheelchairs, medical carts, etc.
- Lift, carry, or reach overhead for items up to 15lbs, including basins, resident care items, charts, thermometers, etc.
- Stand and/or walk up to 90% of an eight (8) hour shift
- Frequently twists, stoops, bends, kneels, squats and climbs stairs
- Possesses dexterity for palpitation, dispensing medicals, and providing medical treatment involving wound care and other medical care as needed
- Ability to read print on equipment, written materials, and medication bottles/packages
- Ability to wear appropriate PPE (personal protective equipment) as required
- This role has frequent exposure to chemical compounds related to medication and treatments, and occasional exposure to hazardous chemicals such as soaps, disinfectants as identified by the MSDS manual
- Role has occasional exposure to blood and bodily fluids as related to medical care and treatment
- Ability to hear normal sounds including alarms, sounds from stethoscopes, etc.
