Medical Assistant - Advanced Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation LLC : Job Details

Total Rehab LLC is searching for an organized, reliable certified Medical Assistant (MA) for its interventional pain management medical practice in Utica, New York. This is a full-time, non-exempt, position. The MA will be cross trained to cover various administrative and clinical tasks within a healthcare setting. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, professional and capable of managing their workload and prioritizing tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

Assist with obtaining applicable authorizations

Assemble patient charts, requisitions and consent forms

Update and file medical records and insurance reports

Assist with the collection and preparation of laboratory specimens, including completion of appropriate paperwork, as permitted by NYS law

Assist practitioners during routine office visits, outpatient procedures and other physical exams

Prep exam rooms for clinical procedures and assisting practitioners with patient care

Monitor and document patient symptoms for practitioners review during clinical exams and procedures

Provide compassionate patient support and care, attention and assistance during office visits

Other duties as assigned

Proficient computer skills, with knowledge of electronic medical record systems

Qualification:

Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant Program preferred

Medical Assistant Certification preferred

Medical office experience and terminology preferred

Prior experience as a procedure technician preferred
