Medical Assistant - Northwell Health : Job Details

Administers para-professional nursing care in accordance with objectives and policies of the department. Duties include, but are not limited to, preparing patient for physician/nurse practitioner and/or audiologist. Assists in coordinating organization of patient needs including: preparing and organizing patient medical record. Job Responsibility - Performs direct patient care under the physician's/nurse practitioners direct supervision. Takes and records vital signs, growth measurements, alters physician/ nurse practitioner of any abnormal signs. Prepares patients for examination and treatment. Records relevant concerns into medical record. Assists physician/nurse practitioner/audiologist with examination and treatment. Explains procedures to be done to patient prior to doing them. - Provides a comfortable and safe environment. Prepares examining rooms for use assuring necessary supplies and equipment are functioning and available.
