Medical Assistant - Tandym Group : Job Details

A community services organization based in New York is actively seeking new Certified Medical Assistants (CMA) to join their staff for a one week event in Rochester NY.

About the Opportunity:

• Schedule: Monday to Sunday (40hr work week)
• Hours: 8hrs per day (some evenings)

Responsibilities:

• Warmly greet and engage in friendly conversation with patients and guests.
• Answer telephones and schedule patient appointments accurately in the computer system.
• Check-in patients and prepare and process appropriate forms; check-out patients at the end of the visit.

• Participate in direct patient care, including:

  Performing vitals.
• Conducting Quantiferon-TB Gold (QFT) tests.
• Performing phlebotomy.
• Perform a variety of patient care functions based on age-specific needs using age-appropriate communication techniques.
• Collect and accurately label specimens; prepare specimens and required paperwork for collection by affiliated laboratories.
• Restock exam/treatment rooms and medical supply inventory on a daily basis.
• Complete all necessary forms in an accurate and timely manner.
• Assist with various medical procedures, as required.
• Perform other job-related duties, as required.

Qualifications:

• Certified and non-certified candidates are allowed; they need to confirm completion of a Medical Assistant (MA) training program. Work experience only is not valid.
• 1+ year of experience as a Medical Assistant (MA).
• Phlebotomy Certificate preferred.
• High School Diploma / GED.
• Completion of a Medical Assistant (MA) training program.
