Medical Assistant III-Transcriptionist - UnityPoint Health : Job Details

Transcribes and types all Pathology surgical, autopsy and miscellaneous reports. Answers phone and provides customer service for pathology and/or main lab offices. Sends copies of reports to providers and clients. Orders and registers laboratory specimens. Reviews lab orders for accuracy. Maintains records of slides/blocks sent for consultation. Other clerical duties as assigned. Maintains schedules of frozen sections and notifies pathologists of scheduled cases. Packages and sends specimen blocks and slides for consultation. Reviews incoming specimens for order accuracy. Qualifications. Minimum Qualifications:High school diploma or equivalent 6-12 months experience medical secretary experience. Valid driver's license when driving any vehicle for work-related reasons. Must be able to read, write and speak English.
