Position Summary:The Director of Media Management Operations is responsible for leading the end-to-end processes involved in acquiring, managing, and distributing digital media assets. This role focuses on supporting file-based workflows from remote production trucks (EVS systems) and overseeing content delivery through a partner-facing Media Asset Management (MAM) system.

This position ensures seamless coordination across live production, post-production, and archival workflows, maintaining the highest standards of quality, efficiency, and compliance. The Director plays a critical role in enabling timely and accurate media delivery across both internal teams and external partners.

The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in broadcast and post-production workflows, EVS file transfer protocols, and MAM systems. They should also demonstrate strong operational leadership, cross-functional collaboration skills, and a proven track record of managing complex media infrastructures in high-pressure, live production environments.Major Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage media operations workflows for acquisition, ingest, quality control, asset tagging, and distribution into the partner MAM system.
  • Oversee file-based media transfers from remote production trucks (EVS systems), ensuring timely and accurate delivery for highlight production.
  • Collaborate with truck engineers to ensure connectivity and successful delivery of all melt content.
  • Maintain and optimize workflows for the partner distribution portal, ensuring secure, efficient, and user-friendly access to media content.
  • Work closely with engineering, IT, and production teams to troubleshoot and enhance media workflows and system integrations.
  • Develop and enforce media management policies, including naming conventions, metadata standards, and partner portal access procedures.
  • Monitor system performance and usage analytics to drive continuous improvement and scalability.
  • Manage vendor relationships related to the MAM platform, EVS systems, and cloud-based distribution tools.
  • Ensure compliance with rights management, content security, and data retention policies.
  • Design, implement, and optimize EVS tools (IPDirector, XTAccess, XFile3) to streamline post-production workflows for melts and highlight content.
  • Support seamless integration between EVS systems and third-party platforms (e.g., Avid, Adobe Premiere, cloud storage solutions).
  • Stay current with industry trends in sports media technology and recommend innovative solutions.

Required Qualifications:

  • 8–10+ years of experience in media operations, including at least 3 years in a leadership role within sports broadcasting.
  • Deep familiarity with NBA production workflows and broadcast standards.
  • Expert-level knowledge of EVS media systems (IPDirector, XTAccess, XFile3, etc.).
  • Strong understanding of file-based workflows, codecs, metadata standards, and MAM systems.
  • Experience with cloud-based media workflows (e.g., AWS, Azure, or hybrid environments).
  • Advanced experience with transfer accelerator software (e.g., Signiant, Aspera).
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure in fast-paced, live production environments.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with AI/ML tools for automated metadata tagging and content discovery.
  • Knowledge of NBA content rights, licensing, and distribution models.

Salary Range: $140,000 - $155,000
