Job Description :

Manages all programs and activities related to media, web, and communications at the Connolly Alexander Institute for Data Science (CAIDS). Actively promotes CAIDS to internal and external audiences, including but not limited to students, faculty, staff, alumni, university leadership, donors, and the general public ( audiences ). Develops and actively leads strategies that highlight CAIDS's mission to foster a comprehensive and inclusive culture of data science and data and AI literacy. Supports and amplifies programming through multiple media platforms and cultivates visibility for CAIDS across Tulane University and beyond. •Proven ability to craft compelling messages and develop communication strategies for diverse audiences, including students, faculty, staff, university leadership, donors, and the public. •Excellent oral and written communication skills. •Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills with the ability to collaborate across departments and disciplines. •Creative thinker with a strategic mindset, initiative, and the ability to manage multiple priorities with minimal supervision. •Demonstrated ability to learn and effectively use digital communication, content management, and project coordination tools. •Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or related field and at least two years of experience working in digital media, social media, public relations, marketing, journalism, or communications. OR •Five years of experience working in digital media, social media, public relations, marketing, journalism, or communications. •Experience communicating about data science, AI literacy, student programming, or academic research and science communications to broad audiences. •Working knowledge of best practices on how to create accessible, engaging, and visually clear communications across digital platforms, with attention to copywriting, graphic layout, and website usability. •Demonstrated experience launching new communications products (e.g., newsletters, branded social campaigns, public reports). •Understanding of data storytelling and its role in public engagement. •Master's Degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or related field. •Proficiency in digital communications and project management tools, including the following: a. Microsoft Office Suite b. Adobe Express or similar design software. c. Website content management systems (e.g., Drupal, WordPress) d. Email marketing platforms (e.g., Emma or similar application) e. Social media platforms and scheduling tools. f. Project and content management tools (e.g., Notion, Box or similar applications)
