Job Title: Project Engineer-Mechanical

Location: Valdosta, Georgia

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Other duties may be assigned.

Manage engineering project development from start to finish

Define project scope, goals, and deliverables aligned with company objectives

Develop full-scale project plans and communication documents

Clearly communicate expectations to team members and stakeholders

Estimate resource needs and manage human capital for project success

Draft and submit project budgets; recommend changes when needed

Coordinate staffing needs with department managers

Hire additional staff or consultants if necessary

Set and maintain clear project expectations

Identify and resolve conflicts or issues within the project team

Track project dependencies and manage critical paths

Delegate tasks and responsibilities appropriately

Monitor project milestones and deliverables

Deliver progress reports, proposals, documentation, and presentations

Analyze team status reports and troubleshoot issues

Proactively manage scope changes and risks

Define and communicate success criteria

Mentor and motivate project team and contractors

Build and maintain key business relationships

Conduct project post-mortems and document lessons learned

Develop and apply project management best practices

Adhere to and enforce safety, food safety, quality, and GMP standards

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position does not include supervisory responsibilities.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in Engineering (required)

Minimum of 5 years of related project management experience

Language Skills

Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating manuals, and procedures

Ability to write reports and business correspondence

Strong verbal communication skills, including public speaking

Mathematical Skills

Proficiency in arithmetic, algebra, geometry, calculus, and statistics

Understanding of physical laws and their applications in engineering processes

Reasoning Ability

Strong logical reasoning and problem-solving skills

Ability to interpret instructions from various formats (written, oral, diagrams, schedules)

Capable of identifying patterns and developing structured solutions

Computer Skills

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

Experience with CAD software

Experience with project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera, etc.)

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

Valid passport or ability to obtain one within 3 months of hire

Other Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Strategic thinking and resource management

Knowledge of leadership and human resource practices

Familiarity with tools, machinery, and their maintenance

Physical Demands

While performing this role, the employee must:

Stand and walk for extended periods

Use hands for tasks requiring fine motor skills

Reach, crouch, squat, climb ladders/stairs, and crawl

Lift and move up to 50 pounds

Work at heights and in variable weather conditions

Tolerate exposure to noise, dust, and chemicals

Have clear close vision, depth perception, and ability to focus

Work Environment

Varies from quiet office settings to loud production environments

Exposure to moving mechanical parts, airborne particles, wet/humid conditions

Occasional exposure to hazardous materials, electrical risks, and vibration

Temperatures may fluctuate based on production area and outdoor weather
