Job Summary

Under the direction of the Maintenance Manager, the Maintenance Coordinator supervises hourly bargaining unit employees engaged in daily maintenance activities.

Job Responsibilities

  • Ensure operational continuity of equipment in ideal operating conditions.
  • Define and execute work based on maintenance work orders.
  • Update data on preventive, predictive, autonomous, and corrective maintenance in work orders and maintenance records.
  • Debit materials and spare parts to the appropriate cost centers, accounts, and work orders.
  • Maintain facilities in satisfactory operating conditions at minimal cost, adhering to safety standards and environmental laws.
  • Support the elaboration of the annual maintenance budget.
  • Supervise maintenance and operating costs, ensuring work is within budget.
  • Support development of maintenance strategies to reduce repairs and failures.
  • Plan and schedule work to minimize production downtime.
  • Coordinate maintenance work to ensure timely execution and minimize production loss.
  • Review work activities with specialists and planners before execution.
  • Improve maintenance work methods for quality, time, and cost efficiency.
  • Minimize non-productive time through effective planning and coordination.
  • Notify management of risks and costs related to equipment operation.
  • Advise on major maintenance needs and equipment modifications.
  • Evaluate new equipment and modifications for maintenance feasibility.
  • Promote standardization of equipment and facilities to reduce costs.
  • Define spare parts inventory based on experience and policy.
  • Advise on modifications to improve equipment reliability.
  • Support autonomous maintenance implementation.
  • Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • 5 years of experience in heavy industrial or manufacturing environments.
  • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Knowledge of maintenance methodologies and technologies.
  • Experience with reliability methodologies such as RCA, RCI, FMFA, etc.
  • Experience in mechanical system design and projects.
  • Excellent communication and team skills.
  • Ability to work independently and lead teams.
  • Understanding of electrical standards and control systems.
  • Certifications such as CMRP, CRE, Vibration Level 1 or 2.
  • Experience with CMMS systems.
  • Knowledge of reliability strategies like RCM, TPM, Spare Parts Management.
  • Working Conditions

  • Exposure to extreme environmental conditions.
  • Use of protective equipment required.
  • Physical Requirements

  • Physical activities including walking, lifting, pushing, and climbing.
  • Ability to exert significant force occasionally and frequently.
  • Communication skills for safety and operational purposes.
  • Must pass DOT physical and screenings.
