Mechanical Field Engineer (to support the construction) - Kaygen : Job Details

Requirements

• Experience: 5–10 years in mechanical field engineering or industrial construction.
• Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering required. (Extensive hands-on experience in industrial building construction may be considered in lieu of a degree.)
• Certifications: Journeyman-level mechanical knowledge is highly preferred.

Technical Background:

• Extensive experience with HVAC systems, industrial piping, and mechanical equipment installation.
• Strong understanding of construction sequencing, scheduling, cost controls, and trade coordination.
• Familiarity with heavy industrial building construction, including expansions and retrofits.

Industry Focus:

• Automotive or industrial building experience strongly preferred.
• Experience managing union contractors and building trades is a plus.
• Commercial retail (e.g., fast food), hospitals, and oil & gas experience are less applicable.

Ideal Candidate Profile

• Self-directed, detail-oriented, and proactive in identifying and resolving field issues.
• Effective communicator with the ability to liaise between tradespeople, contractors, and project leadership.
• Comfortable working in active construction environments and flexible with plant shutdown scheduling.
