Job Title: Mechanical Engineer (Remote)Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Mechanical Engineer to support sustaining engineering activities for our medical device portfolio. This role is critical in driving cost savings, managing product transfer initiatives, and supporting design changes to ensure continued product quality, compliance, and manufacturability.

Responsibilities

• Identify and implement opportunities for cost reduction through material changes, process improvements, and supplier optimization.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as Quality, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain to evaluate and validate cost-saving proposals.

• Conduct root cause analysis and risk assessments to ensure changes maintain product integrity and compliance.

• Lead or support the transfer of products between manufacturing sites or suppliers.

• Develop and update engineering documentation including drawings, specifications, and validation protocols.

• Coordinate with global teams to ensure smooth transitions with minimal impact on supply and quality.

• Evaluate and implement design changes to improve product performance, manufacturability, or compliance.

• Support change control processes including design verification, validation, and documentation updates.

• Work closely with R&D, Regulatory, and Quality teams to ensure changes meet applicable standards and regulations.

Essential Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.

• 3+ years of experience in mechanical engineering, preferably in the medical device or regulated industry.

• Strong understanding of design for manufacturability, materials, and mechanical systems.

• Experience with SolidWorks and engineering documentation systems.

• Familiarity with FDA regulations and other relevant standards.

• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and project management skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with product lifecycle management (PLM) systems.

• Knowledge of validation and verification processes.

• Ability to work in a cross-functional, global team environment.

Work Environment

This position is remote, offering flexibility in work location. The company provides two weeks of paid time off and six paid holidays.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Centennial, Colorado.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $52.00 - $55.00/hr.
