RFA Engineering (www.rfamec.com) is an engineering service provider dedicated to delivering our clients with timely engineering support and expertise. We are seeking a growth-oriented candidate to become an integral part of our engineering team. The selected candidate will work with an experienced engineering staff using state-of-the-art engineering tools & processes. This position will operate onsite at our customer's world-class engineering and manufacturing facility in Mossville, IL. Mechanical Engineer As a Mechanical Engineer, you will lead and contribute to the design and development of operator cabs for off-highway equipment, including construction and mining machines. This role requires strong mechanical design skills, hands-on experience in design and manufacturing processes, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. The ideal candidate is a self-motivated problem-solver with a track record of project ownership, who communicates effectively within engineering teams and across broader product groups. In this position, you will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to research, design, and evaluate the functionality, manufacturability, and performance of mechanical systems-identifying issues early and providing timely, practical solutions. Responsibilities
  • Research and analyze customer design proposals, specifications, manuals to determine time and cost feasibility to complete projects.
  • Investigate equipment failures and difficulties, diagnose/troubleshoot faulty operations, and make recommendation.
  • Develop conceptual designs by applying design principles to meet requirements. Review final designs within/outside team for further development, analysis, testing and evaluation on machine products using tools, equipment, or software.
  • Ability to create design concepts for complex engineering systems. (Tube/hose routings, simple and complex fabricated steel structures, mounting systems and non-metallic components).
  • Adhere to APQP process for design and collaborate with supplier to meeting print requirements.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's of Science in Mechanical Engineering or related degree
  • 4+ years of demonstrated mechanical engineering and product design experience
  • Strong mechanical aptitude demonstrated through work experience or hobbies
  • Excellent communication both written and verbal
  • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and commitments
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to thrive in a team environment
Desired Attributes
  • Experience with designing mechanical components and systems.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing & assembly setting.
  • Experience with Creo software, 3D Visualization, Teamcenter.
