An aerospace client is looking for a Mechanical Engineer with extensive understanding of the production Material Review Board (MRB) process as it relates to compliance with ISO-9100/AS9100D and Department of Defense (DoD) requirements. Location: Palmdale, CA 93550 (Hybrid) Position: Mechanical Engineer Pay Rate: $44/hr - $56.40/hr. on W2 (DOE) Duration: 3 months or longer Schedule: 5×8 (M-F) Shift: 1 st shift (8am to 5pm) Responsibilities:
- Will generate a formal Liaison Engineering MRB test to effectively evaluate the knowledge and understanding of the Liaison Engineer.
- Work will be focused on establishing requirements for the test, the frequency of the assessment, the training material, and methods for ensuring the test is objectively conducted.
- Establish a comprehensive engineering test to be administered to current and future Material Review Board engineers
- Establish an electronic form with clear pass/fail criteria and pre-requisites to take the exam
- Generate learning/training content that can be used to study for the exam
- Interpret technical available resources to include engineering documents and manuals for applicability in creating new training/learning lessons
- Review existing courseware for continued technical accuracy and instructional relevance as internal company operating practices and source data is updated periodically
- Provide technical directions to the Engineering Department leadership
Basic Qualifications:
- U.S. Citizenship required.
- Bachelor of Science Degree in a STEM discipline (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) discipline plus 15 years of relevant technical experience
- Bachelor's degree in the field of Mechanical Engineering and at least 15 years of professional experience
- Strong writing skills and ability to work collaboratively to support and/or lead new growth efforts to improve instructional product processes
- Experience with interpreting technical data from multiple sources and then using it to create accurate and high-quality instructional products
- Experience with using Microsoft Office Suite, SharePoint, Learning Content Management Systems, Learning Management Systems, or other related software suites
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in the field of Mechanical Engineering plus 20 years of professional experience
- Active DoD Top Secret Clearance
- Formal Instructor Certification
- Experience in courseware development
- Experience with using Microsoft Office Suite, Learning Content Management Systems, Learning Management Systems, or other related software suites
