Dialectic offers highly competitive benefits that include eligibility for: Dialectic is looking to add a Mechanical Engineer/Designer Team Lead to our team. The Mechanical Designer Team Lead will oversee Mechanical staff, providing guidance and setting direction. This position will work with staff to ensure accurate technical drawings and contribute to the overall design process for our MEP Engineering firm which focuses on the design of systems for business, retail, housing, education, and entertainment industries. The Mechanical Designer V Team Lead acts as a leader in their discipline, providing guidance and direction, actively leading efforts to grow the department's technical expertise. This position will use expertise in all steps of completing discipline components and will evaluate, select, and apply standard mechanical design techniques and procedures independently. The Mechanical Designer V Team Lead will perform quality review of work developed by others and will present complex technical solutions to clients. The Mechanical Designer V Team Lead will report to the Mechanical Department Manager. leadership team. Key Responsibilities include:

• Manages effectively, delegating tasks, providing feedback and support, and ensuring that the mechanical staff works together toward project success
• Sets comprehensive goals for performance and growth of staff
• Implements and manages company processes and procedures within the team structure
• Work closely with HR for acquisition of talent, maintenance of talent and growth of staff
• Independently perform all the tasks necessary to complete primary design elements for engineering works
• Assess project conditions requirements against information provided and communicate these findings required to the client
• Coordinate design requirements and decisions with other disciplines, BIM department, and project management
• Perform co-design to review design decisions with senior staff and engineers of record
• Create high quality design drawings using Revit/AutoCAD which adhere to company and industry standards
• Edit both sheet and book specifications per project specific requirements
• Apply and edit standard details and diagrams per project specific requirements
• Perform required design calculations including but not limited to heating and cooling load, ventilation, static pressure loss, and pressure drop calculations
• Perform mechanical system design analysis and properly select HVAC and equipment and complete energy compliance forms
• Participate in Premieres, project retrospectives and continuous improvement activities
• Respond to RFIs and review submittals with oversight from senior design staff
• Travel as required, typically under the supervision of senior staff for site surveys and field inspections
• Engage in ongoing learning and professional development to improve technical knowledge
• Attend client meetings with project managers and senior staff
• Provide guidance to designers and engineers
• Become familiar with prototypical design information for multiple clients
• Deliver excellence

Requirements Minimum Qualifications:

• Associate's degree or certification in the engineering field plus 10+ years of demonstrated experience or the equivalent education/experience required
• Demonstrates moderate REVIT/AutoCAD and office computer proficiency
• Strong understanding of local codes and amendments, with the ability to interpret and apply the codes towards system design and calculations
• Strong familiarity with building structures, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems and how they interact

Preferred Qualification:

• Bachelor's degree in Architectural, Mechanical, or Construction Engineering plus 10+ years of demonstrated experience preferred
