Job Overview – Mechanical Commissioning Lead (Construction Systems):Compensation: $125,000 – $160,000/year + bonusLocation: Montgomery County, PADrive high-impact construction projects as a Mechanical Commissioning Lead (Construction Systems) with our client in Montgomery County, PA. In this on-site leadership role, you'll oversee the commissioning of mechanical systems for large-scale commercial and industrial builds. Manage schedules, lead technical field operations, and partner with engineering, controls, and testing teams to ensure systems are started up, tested, and fully integrated. Ideal for professionals with expertise in HVAC, MEP commissioning, and construction project delivery.Responsibilities as the Mechanical Commissioning Lead:
  • Commissioning Leadership: Oversee all phases of the commissioning process, ensuring systems meet operational and quality standards.
  • Project Planning: Create and manage commissioning plans using lean scheduling tools to stay on timeline.
  • Team Collaboration: Coordinate with owners' reps, engineers, and field teams to meet start-up and integration goals.
  • System Troubleshooting: Resolve complex HVAC and MEP system issues, offering hands-on technical guidance.
  • Quality Documentation: Maintain all startup records, test reports, and control checklists for compliance and handover.
  • Performance Testing: Lead functional and integrated systems testing to verify readiness and ensure system performance.
Qualifications for the Mechanical Commissioning Lead:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience:8+ years in mechanical or MEP commissioning, including 3+ years leading field teams and subcontractors.
  • Technical Skills: Strong understanding of HVAC, mechanical, electrical, and control systems, including functional performance testing and system integration.
  • Industry Knowledge: Proven experience developing and executing commissioning plans within large-scale commercial construction projects.
  • Skills & Attributes: Effective communicator and team leader with the ability to anticipate issues, eliminate roadblocks, and drive successful on-site execution under tight deadlines.
