Job Title: Mechanical Assembler

Job Description

In this position, you will work from blueprints and shop drawings to assemble military trailers. You will utilize a variety of hand and power tools to assemble, fasten, and rivet various components of the trailers, collaborating in teams of 2 to 5 people.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble military trailers following blueprints and shop drawings.

  • Utilize a variety of hand, power, and air tools for assembly.

  • Collaborate effectively within a team of 2 to 5 people.

  • Fasten and rivet components as per specifications.

  • Provide personal tools as required for the job.

Essential Skills

  • 2+ years of mechanical experience in assembly or vehicle work.

  • 1+ year previous experience using hand, power, and air tools.

  • 1+ year experience reading a tape measure, with a test required to verify ability.

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, with a qualifying test.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Previous assembly experience.

  • Experience in mechanical repair work.

  • Experience working on government contracts.

Work Environment

The facility is clean and well-lit with tall ceilings, organized into cells for trailer assembly. It is heated in the winter but not air-conditioned in the summer, which can be warm. The atmosphere is occasionally noisy due to air tools, but not consistently loud. The workplace is divided into machining/fabrication, assembly, and paint shop areas. With approximately 100 employees, work is currently conducted only on the first shift, from 6 AM to 4 PM, Monday to Thursday, with mandatory Fridays as needed.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $24.00/hr.
