Title: Materials Specialist

Location: Berkeley, CA

Duration: 1 year contract with extensions/ conversion

Position Description: The Materials Specialist responsibilities includes responsibility for the daily workload for both. The coordination of materiel receipts and deliveries to support activities between the main warehouse, production, development, and the JIT. This position will also be responsible for SAP/ Excel Tracker transactions associated with movement of materials.

Scope of Duties and Responsibilities:

• Coordinate material movement between the warehouse, JIT Warehouse, and the Production floors

• Receive development materials- check packing list to contents and deliver to specified area.

• Maintain Order Tracker for development materials receipts

• Develop tracker for interim VMI materials until storage are available

• Support set up, launch and transfers of existing/new products

• Familiarize and understand existing processes as well as the physical products

• Responsible for keeping a Clean and Safe working environment

• Participate in all PSS meetings for , SCM and WMM

• Participate in VIP/A3 projects or other improvement/cost saving projects.

• Provide reports and requested information as needed

• Participate in Cycle Count program for JIT materials

• All other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Experience:

• High School, AA Degree or equivalent experience

• 3-5 years experience in warehousing, transport or inventory control

• APICS certification a plus

• Strong Customer Service skills

• Basic understanding of MRP (SAP P2R/APO)

• Computer skills, Excel experience mandatory

• Forklift Certification a plus

Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.
