As a Materials Manager, you will be involved in all aspects of the material flow throughout the facility.
What you will do:
- Oversee the inventory management and distribution of materials necessary for our organization's operations.
- Responsible for all shipping, receiving, material storage, and in-plant movement of materials (including supermarkets, Kanban systems, etc.)
- Communicate and coordinate with suppliers, optimize inventory levels, and maintain accurate records to ensure the smooth flow of materials throughout our organization.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to determine material requirements and specifications.
- Identify, evaluate, and select reliable suppliers, negotiating pricing and terms as necessary.
- Monitor and track inventory levels, ensuring adequate supply while minimizing excess and obsolete materials.
- Conduct regular inventory audits to maintain accurate records and identify discrepancies.
- Coordinate with logistics teams to ensure timely materials delivery to different locations.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, resolving any issues or disputes that may arise.
- Implement and enforce best practices for receiving, storing, and handling materials.
- Analyze data and generate reports on key performance indicators, identifying opportunities for improvement.
- Stay updated on industry trends and developments in material management practices.
- Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and company policies.
- Additional duties as assigned.
What You'll Bring:
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, or a related field.
- Proven experience working as a Material Manager or in a similar role.
- Strong understanding of supply chain management principles and best practices.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in using inventory management software and systems.
- Exceptional organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Detail-oriented, with a keen eye for accuracy.
- Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
